Originally founded as a glassblowing company, Aachener Quarz-Glas Technologie has adapted within just a few years to growing market demands and developed into a multi-facetted and innovative high-tech business.
In addition to classic and conventional processing methods, we also deploy state-of-the-art, numerically controlled processes for the hot and cold machining of quartz and borosilicate glass.
Our team has at its disposal over 100 special machines and production facilities covering 2500 m2.
CNC Hot/Cold machining & Laser processing
Thanks to this wide range of technologies and processes, remarkable synergies can be achieved.
We can manufacture highly sophisticated and innovative products which would be unthinkable without the combination of very different work stages.
Thus, for example, we unite the traditional craft of glassblowing with mechanical CNC grinding techniques, and integrate laser cutting into the conventional production process.
Under the aspect of economy, these possible combinations offer many advantages. In this way, for example, series production components such as standard screw threads and flanges can be manufactured far more cheaply.
Blasting
Integral elements of our production chain include various blasting techniques.
Apart from water-jet cutting and laser-jet cutting, we also have the possibility to produce defined surface features by means of special particle treatment.
These are additional services which we offer our clients.
Polishing
This spectrum of technologies is rounded off and completed by mechanical polishing.
Our speciality is top-quality plane optics (P4) which we can also manufacture in large sizes up to diagonals of 600 mm.
We guarantee the same high quality in serial production.
In addition, with our polishing techniques we can also produce complex geometries such as are used as optical ports in test motors, for example.

When manufacturing our technically sophisticated products from quartz and borosilicate glass, we also keep the environment in mind.
For example, we work with heat recovery and heat pump systems in order to keep energy consumption and environmental pollution as low as possible.
