Optics
We manufacture plane optical elements (round and square) for customer-specific applications where top cleanliness and planarity are crucial.
Surface roughness depths of up to 0.8 nanometres and a flatness of up to λ/4 are possible.
Such products are used in numerous industrial applications, for example, in laser technology, scanner and sensor systems, and machine tool manufacture.
Amongst the special skills of Aachener Quarz-Glas Technologie Heinrich is the manufacture of optical ports for test motors.
The palette ranges from simple windows for endoscopic examinations to mechanically polished precision cylinders with the corresponding piston windows. Peculiarities in floor and cavity geometry pose no obstacle to manufacturing.

A special class of optical ports are pressure-chamber windows which are used, amongst others, in test facilities for new types of jet propulsion. Quartz glass, as well as sapphire, are materials which are perfectly suited to applications with extreme pressure and temperature gradients, due to their optical, thermal and mechanical characteristics.
For simple geometries, we are able to calculate the minimum thickness of the windows if the Δp is known.

Contract manufacture
We offer the following services:
- Water-jet cutting of a wide variety of materials (glass, steel, composites and plastics) in sizes
up to 1000 x 1000 x 100mm3 - Laser machining of quartz glass elements (cutting and drilling) of 500 x 500 x 6mm in size
- Laser marking of flat and rotationally symmetrical glass parts
of 1000 x 700 x 200mm3 or Ø 200 x 1000mm in size
Packaging
Many components for the high-tech industry are extremely fragile and therefore require special care during transport.
Aachener Quarz-Glas Technologie Heinrich has a solution to this problem: We manufacture individually customised packaging for anything that must be transported particularly safely.
We design this packaging ourselves so that it offers not just optimum protection against damage, but is also optically appealing.
Depending on what is required, we also produce small volumes of such packaging or even individual items.
